Point Blue Conservation Science

A California-based wildlife conservation and research non-profit organization.

Point Blue has been around for over 50 years, growing from a bird observatory in West Marin to an internationally recognized leader in conservation science. Its 160 scientists focus on climate-smart conservation and its programs include work in 13 countries and Antarctica--from the Sierra to the sea, from Alaska to Antarctica.

Bently Foundation made a $50,000 donation to Point Blue in 2014 and followed up with a $120,000 more in 2015. Both grants contributed to several of their ongoing research projects around the Farallon Islands which, among other things, have helped increase Fur Seal populations, developed an app to minimize whale strikes off the California coast, and improved nesting habitat for endangered sea birds.
